Monroe's Hornpipe was written by Bill Monroe and is played by fiddle, mandolin and guitar players alike. In this lesson I'm teaching a guitar transcription of Tony Rice playing the melody to this tune. Later on I'll be teaching a more advanced version featuring Tony's solo. Monroe's Hornpipe is frequently played at really high speeds. You'll be able to play it as fast as you want if you learn it with all the hammer on's and pull-offs that I go through in this lesson. Those techniques can really help you speed up your playing and add diversity to your pick phrasing. Enjoy!
