I can never get enough Tony Rice! Picking out Tony Rice solos is always a tone of fun, as well as a challenge. This particular lesson (Lost Indian: the Tony Rice Version) goes over one of my favorite Tony Rice solos of all time. I taught the straight ahead, Doc Watson version of Lost Indian in the previous lesson, but this time we're getting crazy with Tony Rice. Like so many of Tony's solos, it strays far from the melody and starts getting into a lot of licks, each of which you can use in other solos and improvisation.

I've broken down the lesson into four separate 'hot lick' lessons, so that you can skip over other stuff and go straight to the coolest licks. There are 2 C licks and 2 F licks, and all are in the higher positions, so you'll look mighty impressive when you whip those out in a jam.

You can listen to the recording that this solo comes from in the YouTube video below. Tony Rice's solo starts at 2:00. Check it out, and check out the lesson!
