For this week's lesson I transcribed Tony Rice's solo on "There's More Pretty Girls Than One" off of the 1980 album, Skaggs & Rice. That is one of my favorite bluegrass albums, as it features the pure 'brother style' harmony singing of two of bluegrass' most iconic voices. Tony Rice's solo contains all the elements of a great Rice solo, and I break it down note for note. I also use this solo to explain how to use the sensibilities of a rhythm player in your solos, and how to play within basic chord shapes to enhance you improvisation. Check it out in the Guitar Lessons section of the Gold Member Library!
