This is the follow up to the "Sleepy Eyed Joe-Basic Melody" lesson, although these are patterns and concepts that you should try to incorporate into all of your tunes. With these patterns you will start learning how to do rhythm guitar strokes AT THE SAME TIME as your lead picking, resulting in a very full guitar sound that allows you to sound good while playing solo. (For an excellent example of the effectiveness of this technique, check out David Grier's solo guitar album "I've Got the House to Myself"). After watching this video you'll be ready to take on the "Sleepy Eyed Joe - Advanced" lesson, where we will incorporate this technique into Sleepy Eyed Joe, just like Norman Blake did.
This Gold Member lesson comes with a streaming video, sheet music and TAB. Enjoy!
