click here Five Miles to Town is a great old timey tune in the key of D. It has some crooked timing, which makes for the best kind of fiddle tune. I drew from a number of versions, but my arrangement is closest to the version played by the Red State Ramblers. Check out a couple of YouTube clips below to get a sense of the tune. I have to admit, I'm not in love with my version, but it's a fun tune nonetheless. It's great to play this one with a couple other pickers and really get into a groove.
