So I've spent the better part of the past week working out a tune recorded by former National Flatpicking Champion Robert Bowling, Maybelle.

MAYBELLE

Crosspicking tunes are always challenging to transcribe because there are so many little pick strokes hitting open strings in between all of the key melody notes which are difficult to aurally isolate. Crosspicking tunes also often mix in loose strumming with the actual crosspicking, so it can be difficult to distinguish the two. This was worth it though because it's a beautiful tune. Perhaps I'll do a lesson on it....maybe someday after lots of practice 😉 Until then, it's simply available in sheet music form.
